Christmas is just around the corner and with it, so are numerous holiday inspired events happening around Knoxville. Whether you are wanting to find a new holiday treat or enjoy a night of ice skating under the twinkling lights in Market Square, there are plenty events for you to take part of this holiday season.
- Holidays on Ice
Holidays on Ice, presented by Home Federal bank, is an open-air ice rink located under the twinkling lights in the middle of Market Square. From November 29 to January 5, adults and children are welcome to come enjoy ice skating, music, and many other holiday treats.
2. Peppermint Trail
From November 23 to January 6, downtown Knoxville restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and boutiques will be featuring peppermint specials including anything from peppermint coffee to peppermint gifts. Follow the trail of the 70+ peppermints on the streets of downtown Knoxville to enjoy the festive surprises.
3. Downtown Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt
From November 29 to January 5, Knoxville will be the host of the only community-wide The Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt in the country. Children of all ages are welcome to pick up a North Pole Pass at any of the participating businesses to help guide them through their journey filled with treats, prizes, and fun for the whole family.
4. Regal Celebration of Lights
On November 29, Market Square will be transformed into a festive celebration that the whole family can enjoy. The night will be full of holiday activities including the lighting of the Christmas tree, live music, pictures with Santa, train rides, ice skating, and much more.
5. WIVK Christmas Parade
The 47th Annual WIVK Christmas Parade will kick off on December 6. The parade will travel along the streets of downtown Knoxville, starting off on Church Street and ending on Gay Street and Magnolia.
6. Tour de Lights
Tour de Lights, presented by Visit Knoxville and Bike Walk Knoxville, is a fun and free bike ride event through downtown and north Knoxville. Kicking off on December 14, the community is encouraged to participate and get in the holiday spirit by decorating themselves and their bikes in festive gear.
